Kaitie

Kaitie Mitchell is a veterinary technician who joined the team in December 2025. She earned her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College and holds both Fear Free and RECOVER CPR certifications. Animals have been part of her life for as long as she can remember. As a child, she tried to help anything that looked injured, from butterflies to cats, and once even asked to bring home an elephant she thought was unwell. In 2016, she left a retail career behind to fully commit to veterinary medicine.

 

Kaitie values the opportunity to help and heal patients every day. She also enjoys educating clients and supporting them as they learn how to care for their pets with confidence. One of her favorite parts of her current role is the constant growth that comes with the job. Each day brings new knowledge, and she takes pride in becoming a better technician for the patients who rely on her. The most meaningful moments for her include nursing sick pets back to health and providing comfort and compassion during end-of-life care when that support matters most.

 

Outside of work, Kaitie shares her life with ten cats, all rescues who found their way to her over the years and each with a personality of their own. She enjoys reading, video games, board games, crafting, and traveling. Her bookshelf leans heavily toward romance, fantasy, and fiction, and she has a soft spot for anything s’mores flavored. Kaitie met her husband in Texas while they were both working at a big cat sanctuary with lions, tigers, and leopards. Together, they hope to visit all 63 national parks. She also has a great sense of humor about life’s surprises, including the time she briefly passed out after eating mashed potatoes that were far too hot.
